Goodwill coffe table makeover

Welcome to my blog! And my first post...Yay! I purchased this coffee table at Goodwill for $35.I have been looking for the perfect piece to make-over as a coffee table and when I saw this, I knew it was the one. It was in very good condition as you can see. But the color wasn't working for me at all.. ....See below for "before" picture

I remembered some baskets I got on clearance at Pottery Barn a couple years ago w/ chalkboard labels..I wondered if they would fit..

Voila! They fit! And I have several more!

I had a small can of chalkboard paint leftover from a previous project as well as some Behr white semi-gloss paint that covers so well...I used chalkboard paint for the top and the Behr paint for the rest. I ended up putting 2 coats on. Here is the "After" picture
