I have recently discovered Pinterest and unfortunately cannot pull myself away from it. It is similar to Houzz.com in that you can add photos to different folders for later viewing. Pinterest is much more broad as it does not only include decor, but it also includes fashion, makeup ideas, baking, hair ideas, basically anything you could possibly imagine. Just "pin" your inspiration photo and you have the option to save it to whatever "board" you like. There are boards that are already in place for you to use or you may create your own. Let's just say that thanks to pinterest, I've done a few projects lately that I "pinned" and here I will share those with you:
These little pumpkins were $1 each and since I made two of these little pumpkin topiaries, I fared well at a whopping $6 for both. Here they are together on my little
junk catchall bookcare.
Love those...the rest of the materials I had and painted black. And since I have already posted the reveal I will give a quick rundown on how I made these. First, I purchased 6 pumpkins. the 4 larger sized ones came from the dollar tree for $1 (they were orange) and the two smaller ones were 97 cents at walmart (they, too, were orange) So, I painted them white and black accordingly and painted the smaller dots on two of them and the larger polka dots on the other two. Then, I hot glued them together. The pedestal base consists of an old spindle (that somewhat resembles a large candleabra base) with a round disk from Michael's craft store attached to it via hot glue as well. And painted black. Easy peasy. I had the spindles and round disks leftover from previous projects so again, total amount spent on this was a mere six bucks. Seriously, this is something that anyone can do!
A couple more things that I managed to squeeze in:
These little pumpkins were also purchased at Walmart for $1 each. They were orange so I also painted them black and white and painted the "BOO" letters on them. Cuteness...love em!
And....who would've thought that you could paint your butcher block...you know, the one your knives live in. Why didn't I think of this?! Anyway, I saw that photo on pinterest and went to my kitchen to take my knives out of there and outside I went with the spray paint. I had this grey color on hand and no white left, otherwise I probably would've used that but anyway, I also cut out a fancy "F" letter on my handy dandy little silhouette machine and decided to use it as a stencil on the front. So, without further adieu, here is my painted and monogrammed butcher block....
